It's Crunch Time
AP exams are just around the corner. Whether you've been studying all year or just realized the exam is next week, these strategies will help you maximize your score.
The 80/20 Rule
Focus on the 20% of content that appears in 80% of questions. For most AP exams, this means:
- Master the most common question types
- Know the highest-weighted topics
- Practice the skills that appear repeatedly
Subject-Specific Tips
AP Calculus
Focus on derivatives, integrals, and their applications. Know the fundamental theorem inside and out.
AP US History
Master the DBQ and LEQ formats. Practice thesis writing daily.
AP Computer Science
Review arrays, loops, and object-oriented concepts. Practice tracing code by hand.
Test Day Strategy
- Read questions carefully — many mistakes come from misreading
- Answer easy questions first to build confidence
- Show your work on free response — partial credit adds up
- Use all available time to review
The Night Before
- Light review only — no cramming
- Prepare your materials (pencils, calculator, ID)
- Get 8 hours of sleep
- Eat a good breakfast
You've Got This!
Remember: the AP exam is just one measure of your knowledge. Do your best, and whatever happens, you'll have learned valuable skills along the way.
